Hazardous Weather
All classes are cancelled whenever the Jefferson County Schools or University of Louisville are closed because of inclement weather. If Jefferson County Schools close early due to hazardous road conditions, all classes will be cancelled. If Jefferson County Schools are closed on Friday, Saturday morning classes will be cancelled. Rehearsals for the various performances are subject to individual schedules, so students should check with their instructor or choreographer for any cancellations.
All cancelled classes will be rescheduled. NOTE: Any class may be cancelled if not filled to minimum capacity.
Location
All classes will be held in either the School of Music Building on Belknap Campus, (ground floor) or the Youth Performing Arts School, 1517 S. Second Street.

Parking
We can help you organize carpools in September. Saturdays, you may park in the lots directly next to the School of Music at no charge. Since we are at the edge of campus, it may be easiest before 5:00 p.m. to find a spot on one of the surrounding streets or even the lot at Manual H.S. when available (after school hours). Paid parking is available at several places. After 4:30 you may pay $3.00 and park in the visitors lot across the street. The Speed Museum Garage is available (on the other side of the circle out front) and we have ½ price tickets which you can pick up from us - 6 tickets, $9.00. You may purchase a Purple U of L permit for $78.00 (available at Dept. of Public Safety at Floyd St. garage) which will get you into the lot adjacent to the SOM after 5:00 PM on a space available basis. When you register ask for a parking authorization for the U of L Permit. Many people use the 15-min. meters for quick drop off and pick up of students. The visitor lot will accommodate quick drop offs only a couple of times each semester. Do not block traffic or park in front of the Planetarium. If you are stopped in the loading zone, you must have flashers on.
